GeoMax Office Fusion – Real Integration

4 October 2017

Experience easy import of data, calculations, adjustments, scan registration and management of the clouds, points, measures, surfaces and images, topographical utilities, and drawing functions. And all in one application. This is real integration.

One software for all workflows

From import to final drawings, X-PAD Office Fusion offers you the best tools without having to pass data from one programme to another. You can load data from total stations, GPS, digital levels and laser scanners, and calculate, view and manage in one software. You can connect TPS survey, GPS survey, levels, laser scanner sessions to see everything together.

A modern working environment and a powerful CAD 3D are the basic framework on which topographic and laser scanner modules have been developed.

The Topographic module includes calculations and adjustment procedure for TPS, GNSS and digital level data. Data can be handled not only in a graphic way but also on grids with countless powerful functions for searching, filtering and editing.

PicPoint module allows to manage PicPoint sessions made in the field, to measure, and to create new points directly on the photos.

With the Scan module, it is possible to extract surfaces and meshes, contour lines, cross-sections and orthophotos from points and point clouds to immediately obtain the final results ready to plot. From surfaces, it is possible to calculate volumes.

Point clouds can be registered with an automatic or manual procedure by specifying common points or reference coordinates. The targets are automatically recognised, which reduces the registration time and improves the data quality. A final Bundle adjustment procedure allows you to get the best possible solution by considering the scans as a whole.

GeoMax releases all-in-one office software for topographical data

27 September 2017

(Widnau, SWITZERLAND, 27 September 2017) GeoMax, professional surveying and construction product provider, announced today the X-PAD Office Fusion, the all-in-one office software combining data from multiple sensors into one easy-to-use interface.

X-PAD Office Fusion software manages, combines and processes data from GNSS receivers, total stations, laser scanners and other sensors in one single environment whether from GeoMax or any other provider in the market. There is no need to export the data from one programme to another, and X-PAD also offers all CAD features.

“The choice to use X-PAD Office Fusion is due precisely to its ability to handle different data and process: traditional topographic data with both GPS and laser scanners processes. X-PAD Office Fusion has made it easy to integrate captured data with GeoMax Zoom 300 and those acquired through photo modeling to get a complete 3D model of inaccessible areas, including surveys with traditional laser scanners,” said Federico Ferrari, Department of Architecture, University of Ferrara. “The ability to extract drawings directly from X-Fusion PAD without using other CAD products, including through the bubble view, makes it an extremely fast and practical product, even for those who do not have specific surveying skills, such as archaeologists like us. A simple and intelligent interface and a great 3D data management engine make X-PAD Office Fusion a truly unique product and easy-to-use and easy-to-teach, enabling us to give more time for critical analysis than using the software itself.”

Simple operations for increased productivity
The new software handles a multitude of different types of data: measurements, coordinates, drawings and point clouds. Large quantities of data can be managed in the fastest way with maximum accuracy. The software automatically detects the common points between the point clouds and performs a first rough alignment.

The Bundle Adjustment feature performs the final and accurate alignment in order to reduce errors. Personalised reports are then created with little effort.

“With X-PAD Office Fusion, our customers now only need one software solution to handle any data from any sensor,” said Romy Koch, GeoMax product manager. “It includes many unique features to help customers to increase their efficiency.”

GeoMax X-Pole – when TPS meets GNSS

9 March 2017

The new GeoMax  X-Pole solution combining TPS with GNSS measurements in one system has been released.

By combining the advantages of both systems, the new solution significantly improves performance and flexibility on the jobsite.

The seamless integration of X-Pole into the field software allows a toggle between both measurement modes. Simply decide with the press of one button if you want to change from TPS to GNSS mode, such as when some points cannot be measured with TPS due to limited prism visibility. Once those points are measured, switch back to TPS mode. This enhances the efficiency of the system since it eliminates the need for cumbersome and time consuming station setups.

Zoom90`s Track360 functionality allows following a moving prism. In case of loss of lock, the X-Pole solution immediately finds the pole position by obtaining the coordinates from the GNSS receiver mounted on top of the prism.

Key Features:
•    Simultaneous TPS & GNSS measurements during setup
•    Change from TPS to GNSS measurement mode at the press of a button
•    TPS & GNSS measurements stored in one common database
•    Modular solution to be combined with any GeoMax Zenith15/25 Pro /35 Pro GNSS receiver
•    Flexible upgrade path even for robotic TPS & GNSS systems in the market

Field Software
The X-Pole functionality is supported exclusively in the GeoMax X-PAD Field Android &
WinMobile software from version 3.0 onward.

GeoMax PicPoint – Contactless GNSS released

8 March 2017

The new GeoMax PicPoint with contactless GNSS was released today.

PicPoint is the innovative way of measuring points not directly accessible with the GNSS receiver. For this reason, the system is called “Contactless GNSS”.

With the “PicPoint” you can easily measure points directly in the field that cannot be measured with conventional GNSS measurements, such as on façade points or objects with restricted access possibility.

“PicPoint” combines GNSS measurements with images taken from the PicPoint camera attached to the pole. The innovative X-PAD field software running on an Android tablet uses photogrammetric principles to enable a point determination, CAD drawings and various COGO calculations such as Area and Tie Distance. Of course, measured points are visualised in the image allowing a visual completeness check of your survey directly on site. If you should ever have missed to measure some points, this can then be done easily in the office.

In all the listed situations, the PicPoint is a practical, fast and accurate solution that can be combined with any receiver of the GeoMax GNSS portfolio.

Key Specifications:
•    Range: up to 25 m
•    Accuracy:  Relative 5 mm / Absolute: 5cm
•    Resolution: up to 18 Megapixels
•    Battery: up to 350 images
•    Waterproof, Shockproof
•    Weight: 160 g

On full display was the company’s well-known complete portfolio from surveying and construction to GIS and machine guidance. Not to disappoint, the new product releases at the event, including the new flagship robotic total station, the Zoom90, the Zenith35 GNSS antenna, the Zoom3D unique micro robot solution and the Zeta 125 and 150 pipe lasers, awed visitors with the innovation.  Ensuring they could “access reality without limitations,” PicPoint, enhancing GNSS rovers to collect points in real time, was another crowd pleaser on the booth.

“I like to visit your booth each year as there is always something new and innovative every year,” said one excited visitor.

More than 150 attendees at the special VIP party 15 September were greeted with great giveaways and key networking opportunities with col-leagues from across the globe.

“INTERGEO is always a big event for us as it’s the industry’s premiere event to meet with our partners and customers to learn more about how we can better serve their needs,” said Alois Geierlehner, GeoMax business development director.

Feedback from INTERGEO indicates that visitors were impressed by the GeoMax approach, which combines new technologies with smarter, faster workflows, all aimed at making the professional’s work life easier.

Outstanding success for Amigos International and GeoMax in Myanmar

17 August 2015

Hundreds of GeoMax customers packed conference venues to capacity during a two-city roadshow event in Myanmar and organised by our partner Amigos International.
The eagerly anticipated showcase attracted more than 500 delegates to two of Myanmar’s major centres, Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.
In Yangon, where 350 attendees gathered at the city’s Park Royal hotel, the city’s media were on hand to cover the response to the presentations and demonstrations of GeoMax instruments and solutions.
Following the Yangon success, our partners took the roadshow on to Nay Pyi Taw - a six-hour drive away- and a second enthusiastic reception was waiting for GeoMax and Amigos International team.
